Mamá Siempre me Dijo, 2025

This piece explores my everlasting quest to learn more about my Puerto Rican ancestry and finding new ways to translate digital imagery to fiber work.

Sublimation print of a digital drawing of my grandparent’s backyard in Puerto Rico layered with a letter from my grandmother on satin, sublimation print of a news article regarding the seize of the Statue of Liberty by Puerto Rican Nationalists in 1799 on canvas, cotton yarn, grommets, and a stick from the backyard of my childhood home.
