Innocence, 2020

While creating this mixed media piece for an experimental print class, I ask myself: how has innocence been implemented within my subconscious throughout my childhood? I covered a wood block with fresh rose petals and chain link. I stamped a self portrait lino-print on clear vinyl and wrapped that around the wood block, stapling it to the back. The act of protecting the rose petals with chain link and vinyl parallels my own attempt at protecting my innocence.
